ABOUT EASE T1D

OUR MISSION

EASE T1D raises awareness and brings education to the public on Type 1 Diabetes, as well
as the onset symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes which look similar to a virus and can be
mistaken as such. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic life-threatening autoimmune disease in
which a person’s pancreas produces little, to no insulin. Insulin is needed to regulate
blood glucose levels and to survive. Though the onset of Type 1 Diabetes occurs at any
age, many are diagnosed as children and teens. We strive to raise awareness to the
difference between Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes to help end misconceptions.
Our goal is to keep people informed of Type 1 Diabetes, a chronic, life-threatening autoimmune disease for which there is currently no cure. It is a 24/7, 365 days-a-year disease that impacts all aspects of life. Despite common misconceptions to the contrary, diet and lifestyle are not causes of the disease and it cannot be prevented.
